After graduating form Paris’ prestigious Studio Bercot in 2009, Goen Jong interned at Totem press agency, working with the likes of Raf Simons, Damir Doma, and Manish Arora. “Being surrounded by such strong collections and individuals, each with their own unique personality, is really what drove me to start my own brand,” she says.
Just one year after Goen J’s launch in 2011, Opening Ceremony started stocking the Korean label’s split white flares and terry-cloth dresses. Goen J’s popularity expanded once Rihanna was spotted wearing the label.
Her collections have gained her some prestigious stockists such a s Net-A-Porter, Bergdorf Goodman, Selfridges, Liberty, Barneys, Opening Ceremony and Shopbop.
In this season, we see the elegant laces fused with the urban practicality. Signature raffles and architectural silhouettes, juxtapositions of unexpected materials placed together creating the romantic narrative with a contemporary attitude.
