Native New Yorker Pamela Love began making jewellery in her Brooklyn apartment in 2007. Since then, she has created a full production facility and design studio in Manhattan’s garment district.
Jewellery design was not Pamela Love’s original path. She received her BFA in Experimental Film and Art Direction from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. After graduation she worked as an art director and painting assistant to renowned painter Francesco Clemente. Her background in cinema and the arts continues to inform her designs.
Pamela Love’s creations are deeply spiritual and intuitive. She is heavily influenced by astronomy, astrology, alchemy, botany, the American Southwest and the architecture of her home, New York City. While her inspirations are steeped in American folklore, she also incorporates traditional tribal artisan patterns from North Africa, Mexican folk art, and medieval European iconography into her designs, resulting in her own immediately recognizable aura of modern urban mysticism.
The line is committed to sustainability and localized production whenever possible. The majority of the line is produced in New York City and Los Angeles. Any manufacturing done outside of the United States is carefully considered and vetted for social and environmental responsibility.
